Whose Wedding is it Anyway?

The title of one of my all time favorite shows of that past {not so much now that I have done the whole wedding thing for myself} but a perfect title for our summer! We have a wedding almost each month from the months of May until October and boy has it been a blast so far! {Also very expensive, but that's ok -you only get married ONCE right?! ;)}

The summer has looked a little something like this so far:

May 14, 2011

My first cousin Heather got married to Jesse, in a sweet outside country wedding
in Nashville, TN

June 10, 2011

My old friend from high school, Kaitlyn's, bachelorette party downtown Indy

June 17, 2011

Erin and Andrew, our friends from college, bachelor/bachelorette parties in Chicago, IL. It was a super fun reunion with friends from college in the mecca known as downtown Chicago. The guys and girls split up and the girls all dressed up and went out on the town!

June 24, 2011

Hadley, Kyle's brother's fiance, bachelorette and bridal party was in Salt lake City, UT. It was so fun! Utah, a state I have rarely traveled, showed me a great time! We spent 2 nights in Park City which is an absolute dream!

Next up: The wedding fun!!

Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. -1 Peter 4:8

Summer in the City

There is nothing like a warm summer day filled with sunshine to liven the spirits! Living in the bitter Midwest, a break from the winter comes at a crucial time each year. This summer has already been filled with many adventures, travels, family visits, and new experiences. With so many close friends and family members getting married this year most of our summer has been planned around wedding festivities {bridal showers, bachelor/bachelorette parties, weddings, etc}. It has been a great way to reconnect with old friends from high school and college as well as an opportunity to be around family that lives far away.

So now that the traveling has slowed down I really want to make sure we take advantage of the best city in the country! {yes, I am aware I am very partial to this notion, but in fact I am pretty well traveled and I just love Indy!} Anyway, I decided to make a list of a few goals to accomplish before fall comes. Some things are an absolute necessity and a travesty they haven't been accomplished yet! Like:

1) A night at the Rathskellar Beer Garden

I have so many fond memories sitting outside with friends, listening to music, enjoying German beer...wait, scratch that last one, I can't stand beer, but you get the picture!

2) Groovin' in the Garden at Easly Winery

Easly Winery is blocks from the house and another gem in the city. On Tuesday and Saturdays they have an event aptly named"groovin' in the garden" located right in their parking lot. It's a great place to listen to local bands play and you can enjoy a bottle of wine. It is always fun and a different crowd than Kyle and I normally see {the older, more "professional" crowd}.

3) Concert on the Canal at the Indiana Historical Society

Love this idea and crazy enough, we've never been! Through out the summer different artists {mostly jazz, folk bands, etc} We can park a spot on the grass, bring our own food and drinks, and spend the evening listening music, and people watching! The canal downtown Indianapolis is one of the best places to people watch {Second only to the airport!}

So, needless to say, Kyle and I are so blessed to live downtown in the an amazing city with endless opportunities so garsh darn it {not sure where that came from} we are going to take advantage of it!

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. -Romans 8:28
